  • Wuhan UHV provides series resonance technology guidance for Shaanxi customers

    Recently, a customer from Xi'an, Shaanxi purchased a UHV-108kVA/108kV variable frequency series resonant withstand voltage test device from Wuhan UHV. The Wuhan UHV after-sales team was invited to the site for technical training.

    The AC withstand voltage test of various large power transformers, power cables, steam turbines, hydro generators, and other capacitive equipment must be strictly conducted regularly in accordance with the test regulations. Under power frequency conditions, due to the large capacitance of the test object or high requirements for the test voltage, there are also high requirements for the power capacity of the test device. Traditional power frequency withstand voltage devices often have large individual volumes, heavy weights, are not easy to transport on site, and are not easy to combine arbitrarily, resulting in poor flexibility. A better method is to use frequency conversion series resonance for voltage withstand testing.

    The advantages of the frequency conversion series resonance withstand voltage test device independently developed and produced by Wuhan UHV mainly include the following: simple operation, small size, light weight, and very convenient for on-site use and handling; Low requirements for on-site power supply, both 220V and 380V are acceptable; Good experimental equivalence; Unique low harmonic patented technology, with a measured harmonic content of less than 0.3% at Wuhan High School, far below the national standard requirement of no more than 5%, greatly protecting equipment such as main transformers and generators from high-voltage harmonic damage; Equipped with a micro printer, it can print and save test data at any time; Overvoltage, overcurrent, discharge, overheating, and zero start protection are comprehensive and reliable, with an action time of 1 microsecond. For operations in certain special environments, Wuhan UHV can customize according to customer needs.



    Due to the lack of test samples that can withstand voltage at the customer's site, they chose to conduct an air lift test on the instrument. The technicians connected the variable frequency power supply, excitation transformer, reactor, and voltage divider in sequence and grounded them before starting up for voltage boosting. It should be noted that during the experiment, safety monitoring should be carried out around the area and warning fences should be set up to prevent personnel from accidentally entering the high-voltage area and being injured.

    After a detailed explanation by the Wuhan ultra-high voltage technicians, the on-site testing personnel of the customer gained a further understanding of the equipment and were soon able to independently use it for testing. This after-sales service journey has also come to a successful conclusion!
