Partial discharge and high-voltage testing of cables often lead to the phenomenon of cable breakdown; The reasons for the phenomenon of cable "breakdown" are not only the real breakdown caused by the quality management problems of cable enterprises themselves, but also some other important reasons for the false breakdown phenomenon of cables. So how can we judge the authenticity of cable breakdown? A manufacturer of variable frequency series resonant devices,shares with you some methods for identifying cable breakdown:

1. Due to the fact that the partial discharge and high voltage environment tests of network cables are conducted one by one in the shielded room, when breakdown occurs, the enterprise can fully consider replacing the insulated wire core for retesting. If the wire core needs to be replaced and the voltage technology test system passes normally, we should be able to confirm that the cable has indeed experienced breakdown.  

2. When breakdown occurs, a variable frequency series resonant device can be used to conduct a voltage boosting test again and observe the breakdown voltage value. When the breakdown voltage shows a gradually decreasing trend, it is empirically judged that there is indeed a breakdown phenomenon in the cable. However, if the breakdown voltage of the cable remains at the same value every time, consideration should be given to whether the cable end has been broken down. (Friendly reminder: If there is no breakdown phenomenon at the cable end after analysis and investigation, we should consider the occurrence of false breakdown phenomenon in the cable enterprise, supervise and inspect the information of the variable frequency series resonant device or voltage resistant equipment, eliminate system faults before conducting research and testing.)

4. There is also a special educational situation: sometimes there is a short circuit in the internal environment of the cable insulation, and the series resonance test management system may cause the inability to resonant boost, which is also a special cable breakdown phenomenon.
